Stressed Skin? Try These Tips

It’s Spring and despite the current environment it’s time to put a fresh face forward, even if it’s only on Zoom or TikTok. Everyone wants a glowing healthy complexion but acne can destroy that fantasy along with your self esteem. There isn’t a quick fix product out there that can clear your skin up overnight, but with some consistent, routine care on your part you can keep your complexion fresh, healthy, and radiant.

  • Keep your fingers off your face: We know you hear this all the time now but touching your face not only spreads infections like covid-19 to your ears, eyes, mouth and nose but can also spread bacteria which causes acne. So do as your mother told you and stop touching your face. 
  • Wash your facemasque: after every use, with soap and hot water. A face masque can help keep you and others safe from COVID-19 but it can play havoc with your complexion. Make sure you wash your masque after every use so you aren’t collecting dirt and pushing it into your skin. 
  • Wash your face gently! Exfoliation is great for sloughing off old skin cells which can block pores and give your complexion a dull appearance. Make sure you use a gentle, circular motion with any exfoliant.   • Keep a face towel just for your face. Don’t just grab any towel when drying your face, use a specific face towel that is only for your face. Have a couple handy, you only need face cloth size – its only your face. This ensures you aren’t drying your squeaky clean skin with a dirty towel, and of course, pat, don’t rub your face dry.

  • Moisturize. People who have problem skin are often tempted to skip this stage as they feel moisturizer makes the skin oily. Acne isn’t caused by the oiliness of your skin, it is caused by blocked pores, which then creates inflammation.
